 It is a romantic comedy starring Adam Levine, Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld, Catherine Keener, and even Adam’s former costar from The Voice Cee Lo Green. The movie follows the lives of two people who have had their worlds turned upside down.

Friday Favorites

Friday has snuck up on us again. It's the last weekend in June and officially summer. I had an amazing week long road trip / camping / resorting time with my wonderful boyfriend. We celebrated love with friends at a wedding, then hit the road for the sun (and rain), beach and relaxation that the West Coast has to offer.

DIY Floral Crown

It's the time of year for festivals, weddings, celebrations, patio parties and flowers! A not-so traditional bridal headpiece or a delicate and romantic everyday accessory, floral crowns  are popping up at every occasion and are a growing symbol of ethereal beauty.

DIY guru “P.S I made this” shares how to make beautiful floral crowns.

 

To create, twist large flowers together (use flowers that have bendable coated wire). Begin to create a crown shape by twisting and connecting as you go. Incorporate smaller flowers and wrap around the base of the crown. Sprinkle smaller accent flowers until you’re satisfied.  Make sure to try on as you go so it fits perfectly. Unleash your inner flower child as you crown yourself the queen of DIY!

The Honest Life Will Transform Your Everyday Living

In this past year, I have been searching for and trying a new, fresh, more clear look on life and have really attempted to make changes to better my life and the lives of people I love and see everyday around me.

I have done research, searched high and low, listened to eco-style gurus, cleansed my body, closets (yes, more than one), makeup cabinet, kitchen shelves and just about every other aspect of my life that you could think of. There are a few things that have changed my life for the better, one of which is this book, The Honest Life written by Jessica Alba.

 Jessica Alba is an actress, activist, style icon and fashion expert, a mother, wife, as well as being my own muse. She has spent the last several years building her reputation as an eco mama warrior. She has advocated for chemical safety measures on Capitol Hill, co-founded The Honest Company, and now she has written all about her green living philosophy in her first book, The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True To You. Her book covers numerous topics in green living and every aspect of life and it’s all done in a non-judgmental, gentle way. Her passion for this lifestyle is evident and inspiring and being eco-friendly, doesn’t mean you have to give up everything enjoyable in life. In her book, she gives you examples of ways to choose greener products and make more eco-friendly choices, but she also admits to her own eco-vices and sees honest living as a guide for trying to live well (not trying to be perfect).

 

 

 

As absolutely stunning as Jessica Alba is, her book reveals there is a lot more to her than just a pretty face. She is truly knowledgeable about healthy living and honest living. I have found myself taking notes and remembering her tips as I walk through farmers markets and thinking of how she created such a flawless, natural beauty routine (you must check out her vanilla sugar scrub).

 

The Honest Life is a great book for green lifestyle beginners which was perfect for me, and it is also a wonderful reference on how to make natural living simple, fun, affordable and stylish!
